This final post is to close out the Strategic Fleet presentation.

Roll Eyes One last post... a comparison of cross sections for the original Andromeda and the upgraded Andromeda (tried to load the upgrade as a separate drawing to the same scale as the previous posting, but the size was too large).

This one is the full cross sections for both versions.

This final post is to close out the Strategic Fleet presentation.

This is the last one...

An interior arrangement for the Ullyses (in three parts)
Part 1 - forward section
Part 2 - mid section
Part 3 - aft section

Modified to show outlines of turboshaft network

gray outlines: near centerline turboshafts (mostly vertical)
green outline: near outer section (mostly horizontal network)
brown outlines: flight deck shafts (also near outer section)

2x shaft networks, one on the port side and one on the starbord side, which allows full length center passage way at the centerline.

Also added more original graphics of craft carried on board the ship.

(changed attachments)

Enjoy...  Wink

Roll Eyes  I just had to add this one of the first ship on this thread... an interior cross-section of the Zeus Class Starfighter Carrier.

The two graphics are of the forward section and aft section (the original scale of the pictures prevented me from getting a smal part of the center section); these two graphics are 75% reduced to fit the max file size.

The upper section (above the flight deck body) is built much like a conventional starship, and the lower section is open deck spacing for modular compartments or industrial fabrication systems to support flight operations.

I had to do a view from the bow to see how things looked and I was happy to see a lot more space than imagined.  I also modified all three views to reflect the placement of high-power conduits (orange symbology), which were originally intended for power transfer to the enhanced countermeasures and shield generators. During the year prior to the  Dominion War, four carriers had the HPCs replaced with high-output phasers (since the HPC was intentional designed like the power relays system for phasers, a compromise within Starfleet bureaucracy).  This is my way of explaining how a few Zeus Class were upgraded, but the rest of the carriers did not have phasers (remaining Zeus and all the Thor class), especially since there was a need to upgrade the countermeasures and shield system to compensate for the loss of the HPC).   Cry    Love that treknobabble...

The front view is not complete (still need to do the interior designing like in the side views, but the basic decking layout will show how much space is available for habitation and operations.  I also placed the escaped pods (similar to the Sovereign) in two levels along the sides of the saucer section.  The view shows varying depths within the body.  The port (left) side shows the forward portion of the flight section (flight support decks,  one of the two forward weapon storage bays).  The weapons module (dorsal shoulder) shows the middle section containing the Long Lance-E Strategic Warp-capable Missile System (extended long-range).  The port warp engineering pod shows the front view of the Unified Warp Drive reactor.  The starboard side shows the main flight deck , a portion of the flight maneuvering bay (below the flight deck) and both sides have the "in-warp" launch and recovery lane  (the starboard lane has two flight-rated type 11b ready to launch).  The starboard weapon module shows the quantum/photon torpedo launcher (pair in forward and aft section) and the weapon control center located just behind the forward Pho-torp launcher bay.  Both sides show the tram network for the flight deck (moves personnel from the flight support to the respective squadron line or to the aft support bays for the Support Starcraft and flight-rated  Runabout and type 11b).  The keel shows the two fairings for the long-range point defense missile system and the lateral warp power-feed that allows one reactor to power all four warp nacelles.  The bow section shows the main deflector/sensor system and one the the two extended long-range sensors scanners used for the LL-E strategic missile system (as well as, deep space scanning for exploration and strategic security).

Things left to do on the front view are to build the decks in the saucer section and the fleet command section (the raised area on the flight section) and the flight support decks, to include turbo-shafts, detail the interior details for the warp nacelles on the starboard side.  I might do one more view from the rear showing the aft shuttle bay and the maintenance bay behind the main flight deck space, as well as, the auxiliary shuttle bay located between the two weapon modules, and the Auxiliary Power System .

how many of the Zeus carriers are around? It must be a huge effort to build and maintain them.

The number of Zeus (and other strategic ships) was something I worked out a while ago...

The Zeus and Thor Class represent a major investment for the UFP, and this has only been possible due to changes in the interstellar security program that allowed more resources to be available to the strategic ships development program.
