I'd say we're better waiting until the last week or 2 of the competition before making a decision on extending the deadline or not. By then we'll have a better idea of how many entries are likely to be completed.

Ok, With the deadline just a shade over a week away............I am going to suggest extending the deadline by a month - that woulld be on MARCH 4th rather than Febuary 4th 2010.
Judges/Evaluators - Your opinions needed on this issue. What do you think?

well, at last count, including BorgMan's and my entries, I counted 16 different entry threads - As of yet, Only Juvat has linked his entry thread in this thread. That leaves 15 entries without the chance of winning........as they are not linked here.
So, come on guys, let's get those entry threads linked before the deadline.

By the way - Just as a reminder.....I wanted an SCN specific prize for the competition in addition to JOAT inclusion. Before the competition concludes, I would like to know what Bernd and/or BorgMan came up with. I suggested either a custom avatar, or an animated signature, or something that would set the winner apart from other SCN members. If the prize is not yet ready.......then I would like it to be so by the conclusion of the competition.

Hey guys, I'm back...
Man I'm sorry I missed this one... But as luck, or Irony would have it, I've been working on an under 200m ship for quite a while now...
I'll post a pic if ya want, even though I can't officially enter it.
PS... I have ships from previous competitions that didn't make it into the JOAT for some reason. I know I submitted them. You guys remember the Carion Class, USS Wolf, and the Runabout with the folding wings, not to mention the StarRunner Class.
I guess I'll have to resubmit.... Good to see you guys and your awesome work.

Not that I think I'm going to be remotely in the vacinity of near completed by end of compitition date, I do have a question.
The artwork on the Patrol Class is old, except for the new skin and details, so it can't be an entry. But... can one use old artwork as a base, and create a 3d model for an entry.
I just started my 3d model yesterday, but If I got it finished in time, could the 3d model actually be an entry.
For the record, I'm not making an entry, I just think the question needs answered.

Two things this posting..........First of all - GALEN - As my second/back-up judge I may need you to step in as my second as the power supply connection on my laptop is fried, so I will be without computer access for a time.....How long remains to be seen.
Secondly, Guyver.......The creation of the entire design.......concept to completion, needed to fall within the competition time frame. You say your basic design base is old.......older than the competition time frame, therefore it cannot be used or submitted.
