A direct to sequel to Pred's 1 and 2, eh? Given the Failures of AVP's 1 and 2,  will this work?   I hope so, but I'm uncertain.

Assuming they keep with the R rating, I think it's chances are better.

They announced this months ago.

Luckily TPTB have wisely decided to completely ignore the AvP movies.

What an odd cast they've got.

I can understand ignoring AVP movies. But ignoring P2 escapes me since the incident from P1 was mentioned in the sequel.

If I were to guess, in some circles 2 was where it all went wrong. If I were to guess.

2 was fucking horrible. AvP did better justice to the first Predator movie, then that piece of shit with Gary Busey. AvP and AvP:R were pretty bad, so that should tell you something.

What an odd cast they've got.

It has something to do with this group hunting some Predators. Something like that.

Well, my reason for calling them odd choices is because the ones I know by name tend to play the scientist types, or similar, more often than naught.

Yeah, I'm more a fan of A♥P than anything else, really.

I disagree. If P2 was so bad it would never have inspired the whole Avs.P in the first place. Not only in the two crappy movies but in comics, games and books.
I don't think it was as good as the first (few squeals are) but it wasn't total crap either.

It was complete crap. Because it inspired the whole AvP franchise doesn't mean the movie was any better then complete garbage.

Dark Horse comics came up with the idea, predating (no pun intended) predator 2 by a small margin.

IMHO the both predator films were good for their time, and have a place in my good movie archive. Although granted by today's standards they probably wouldnt.

Both AvP movies were complete toss and I was willing to forgive a lot due to my love of both franchises. The first movie plot was absolute pants and the second suffered from abysmal lighting and fanboy writers dicking with the established backstory of the species.

There were some early pics of the new predator movie posted on movieweb a little while ago.

There's a script review (of both the original 1994 draft, and the supposed current one) over at io9. Massive potential spoiler warning.

If the script is legit, apart from the alternate ending, sounds fucking terrible.

*EDIT* Bonus points for this amazing comment:

Mr. Rodriguez: What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent script were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this topic is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no budget, and may God have mercy on your soul.
