I might actually try this, but it will be brighter then what we are used too. :)

Whatever we settle on should be lighter than the current setup, which falls under "looks great in a dark room".

Besides the colors, the current layout uses a smaller font and a thinner frame.
That makes it harder on my poor old eyes, and most pictures in the posts now have scroll bars because they don't fit in the message frame.
Could that be changed?

So far I have only changed the colors of the themes available. I dont know how flexible this entire thing is, but I could design a completely different interface, that would replace the upper banner, search bar and "information" bar below it.  (I doubt there is a need for this though.)

Regarding the colors: When I think of Subspace-Comms, the first thing that comes to mind is blue with yellow.  I can't help it, it has been so for many years. Even on a very new interface I would probably use these colors again, perhaps in a slightly brighter or less saturated.

I did design a theme yesterday slightly based on the bridge colors of the JJPrise, I will upload it when I come home, in about 1 or 2 hours.

*No matter if my adaptions are used or not used: I'm having a lot of fun doing these color options, it's very "light" work compared to starship design.  :)

Hey CH, I'm giving you free reign... come up with any design that you like and I will see if I can code it up... I'm pretty sure that I can code any idea that you can come up with, so lets see what you got.

As for the width I believe that I could change that pretty easily, the images I think I have already corrected.. I just set the max width to 600 px, it was set to 800 before.

Cool! because of some deadline switch that I heard yesterday, I now have some more free time. (very strange feeling.)
I will see what I can come up with!

Perhaps the new look can be rather easily created from the current theme, with different colors and without the diagonal stripes.

Knowing us however, that little 'temp' logo will stay up there from now on though.

The theme updates look good so far. I was wondering though, if you were planning on adding the "Unread posts" and "Reply to your posts" selections that were on the previous forum. I found it much easier to look for new topics that way.

If I can track down where that is in the code for the other skins then I may add it, just dont know where I'm going to put that in. Generally I just scroll down through the forum and look in the individual boards that show they have new posts so for me it really isnt missed.

I do miss the look of the previous logo. Any way we could whip up a version of that to fit in with the new theme?

Is there anyway to get the original logos on a bigger size then we had them in the previous header?

I would like to reuse them for the new header. (The insignia and the subspace relay station.)

Who is the creator of these? :)

I know nothing about the logo, but the relay station is almost certainly from EAS.
Steady on.

This is the latest version of the logo as a PSD file:
