So, what's that four of us?  A few more and we'd have a decent sized armada going.

If we can work out a good time for everyone, we should try some group/fleet type missions.  If anyone is interested.

An official SCN Fleet? That would be awesome!  ;D

Captain-5 here, love my Defiant.

As for the name, how about Artic Death Monkeys?  :P

More seriously, I' suck at naming things, so I'll let you guys pick.

I'll also see about actually signing in more often, just finished both the GTA4 expansions, so I've got nothing else planned for my gaming future.

BTW, what specialisations are you guys? I'm Tactical, although the Defiant I mentioned in the previous post probably made that obvious.

Tactical. I'm using a modified Ushaan Escort.

I was thinking something like Subspace Marauders. Or Space Wraiths.  ;D

EDIT: Sorry about that, didn't mean to double post. Meant to hit modify, plus I wasn't paying attention.

I'm tactical as well.  I'm still using the ship you start with....haven't made it to Lt. Commander yet...probably later tonight though if I can kill a few more Gorn.

Are you going to go Escort or Cruiser?

I'm not sure.  I've been doing fairly well with my little ship so far, aside from getting owned by those Romulans the other day, so I might stick with something small for a while.  Wait till I get a higher ranks before stepping up to something in the cruiser range.

I'm somewhat fond of the this one: http://www.startrekonline.com/ships/dervish
If it will let me pick that one.

That's a ship choice for Rear Admiral.  As a Lt Cdr you get a choice of:

http://stowiki.org/wiki/Escort_(Federation)

http://stowiki.org/wiki/Cruiser_(Federation)

or

http://stowiki.org/wiki/Science_Vessel_(Federation)

The Science Vessel is a balance between the other two types.

I'm putting quite a few skill pints into specializing in Escorts. I'll probably stay with Escort the rest of the game. But I'm also saving up to get a Fleet Cruiser. So I can have both a Fleet Escort and Crusier, just for the heck of it.

I'm thinking about getting this game myself... I take it everyone that plays it is pretty happy about it?

It's no Mass Effect, though it's certainly entertaining.  I have to admit that it's better then I thought it was going to be.....certainly better then Legacy ever thought about being.  If you decide to get it Mak, look around at a few different places.  The price seems to vary from anywhere from about $20 up to $50 depending on which version you get and where you get it.

I'm not up on the whole skill tree, specialization thing yet.  Didn't realize that when I made it to Lt. Cmdr, I'd have such a limited selection of ships.  I ended up with a slightly modified Saber.

Meh, I didn't like it that much, possibly because of the terrible ground combat.  I got up to a cruiser in beta, but just could bring myself to get any further than LT3 in live.  I'll try it again in a few more months to see if the updates have improved it at all though.

Yeah, ground combat is alittle clunky. But the space combat is pretty damn good.

Got promoted to Commander today. Plus I decided to change my uniform.

I really dislike the travel time and it seems tedious and is often boring.  Particularly when I'm several sectors away from the place I want to go.  I know space is vast, but they could do something about it to enhance game play a bit.
