Yeah, it's pretty annoying, but you do speed up a little as you level. You start off at warp 7 (I think) and I'm now Captain 10 and at warp 9.37.

I find that listening to music or tabbing out to check my RSS feed helps make the travel time more bearable, but it shouldn't be so boring that I feel the need to do so.

Good to hear that you increase speed as you level up.  I've also found that you can cut down travel time (not by much mind you) if you reallocate all your power into engines/speed.  I did this quite a bit during the Briar patch mission when full impulse became impossible.  It's not a drastic improvement, but it is noticeable.

I would like to see more starbases. A place you can unlock, and use to quick travel to.

I would also like to see some planet based places, that you can run around.

Yeah, dockable Starbases are pretty rare, I can only think of 4 and a couple of ground places like Memory Alpha.

I hear you can dock at DS9. That would be sweet.

By the way, just to change the subject some. Are you guys making a insane amount of money? I mean, I don't think I have dropped below 200,000 credits since the day after I bought the game. In the past 3 days, I pulled in just over 400,000 credits!
What are the credits for, other then buying ships you're not specialized in, and weapons that are worse then the ones you can get as random drops?

I'm sitting at 930,000 credits. You can use them to grab stuff from the Exchange, which can be a fast way of gearing up when you rank up and get access to new tiers of weapons. You can also use them to buy other types of starships.

And yeah, you can dock at DS9. It's the 2nd largest Starbase in game I think unless there's one in Borg space, which is doubtfull.

Maybe it's because I haven't been playing long, but I'm not getting anywhere near that level of credits.  I've spent some on various items before I realized that practically everything you do leaves behind loot that is as good if not better then the stuff I can currently buy, but aside from that, I'm not accumulating a huge amount.

Well, I've hit Rear Admiral, so I've gone with a Fleet Escort:

Saucer: Dervish
Hull: Hermes
Nacelles: Gryphon
Centre Pylon: Gryphon
Side Pylons: Dervish

And my uniform:

I've been selling the samples, and data you can collect, in the Exchange. The stuff seems to be useless anyway. But for some reason someone will pay 150,000 - 200,000 credits for 20 Biological samples. Go figure.

Huh, no idea what those are for other than some crappy low level crafting at Memory Alpha. But that wouldn't be worth that kinda money. Weird.

Maybe I should see about selling all the ones I dumped in my bank before I stopped collecting them.

Think I'm gonna change the nacelles, seem too long now that I've been flying it for a little while. And not liking polaron weapons, the cannons don't sound powerful at all. Guess it's back to phasers.

I like the nacelles you have on it. But you, eyes of the beholder, and such.  :P

I prefer phaser, and quantum torpedoes myself. My new ship also has rear launchers now, which is GREAT!

There's transphasic torpdoes in the game too, but I don't know how well they work.
I alsao want to try Tricobolt torpedoes.

Greg, do you know where I can find the Zero Point Quantum Chamber? I checked the STO Wiki, and google, and found nothing. Mostly site about Zero Point energy.  ;D

From what I've heard, transphasics aren't great, they bypass shields, but don't hit that hard. And it's not usually hard to knock down an enemies shields to hit them with quantums.

Check out this new sexy beast. Looks like it'll be available on the C-Store soon.:

It's obviously a Dervish based.

NOTE: I grabbed these from the STO forums. Full credit goes to K-Tar (Original thread Orginal post)

I might actually get that one for the parts, I like the look of the hull and possibly the nacelles.

I went to Earth Spacedock today, and came out of warp right next to one. It looks cooler when you actually see it in the game.

I have it, well, parts of it. It's pretty cool, although I'm not a huge fan of it's saucer.

Awesome :)

EDIT: I wasn't happy with the way my ship looked, so I changed it.
Changed the saucer and the struts, but kept the hull and nacelles. I also fixed a typo with the regestry number. It was NCC-481917, it was supposed to be 491917 (April 9th, 1917  :D )

EDIT: Huh, funny how that works, I turned my computer on now that I'm home from work and it booted no problem...
