Ships of the Line November 2011
« on: July 23, 2010, 06:56:16 PM »
This is for discussion of the calendar image from November, 2011 Ships of the Line.  We Have the Enterprise-A, an inverted Connie, Labeled USS John Glenn, NCC-2707, with another in the background, two ships made with Excelsior parts arranged in Nebula style, with AWACS pod, with the clearer one named USS Sun Tzu, NCC-2530, two ships made with Connie parts arranged in Oberth style, only clear labels are registry numbers, NCC-1778-A and NCC-1878-A, and one ship that looks like http://www.inpayne.com/ Peregrine class with a secondary hull attached.  What do you guys think?

The John Glenn is pretty cool, but the rest of them are pretty harsh.

I might like the Nebu-celsior if the pod was either integrated better with the rest of the hull, or removed altogether. The rest are not very attractive.
Steady on.

Yeah, none of them are particularly attractive.  I guess that John Glenn thing has 6 torpedo launchers (forward at least, which is possibly more than the Soverign has mounted forward...).  The Nebula-esque ship would look way better if the pod was mounted on the hull (or some kind of rollbar or something) instead of a little thing sticking out.  Are the green beams supposed to be from whatever they are shooting at (probably Klingons or Romulans)?  It's hard to tell with some of them, like the one in front of the Enterprise, it looks like the green beam is coming from a weapon bank (or at least where one would be if it were a Connie).  The Oberth-esque ones aren't that bad I guess.

I think November 2011 is going to be an unusually short month...

I'm getting the calendar for Christmas, and I can't read on the scan who made those ugly kitbashes. Can anyone tell me?

Thanks. Incidentally, I got it just yesterday, as a belated birthday present.

Tobias Richter makes even the Abramsverse ships look good. But the true highlight is Clawhammer's XCV-330.
