Reminder for the people here, Endeavour is launching in about 4 hours for STS-126 to the ISS. Live on NASATV for who's interested.

Yeah, I was kind of mad because my Aerodynamics professor was invited to be one of the VIPs at the launch, so we didn't get our tests back today. Plus, I want to see a night launch from the VIP seats cause they are super close.

Thanks for the reminder, Da Vinci, I watched the last launch over their webcams and it was pretty fun. Until it all went dark of course after the booster rockets were jettisoned.

And she's up! Must be one of the smoothest launches ever, not even a minor glitch.

Great, indeed. I wonder how long it will take for some conspiracy nut case to say they are all fakes; done up in PS.

Spectacular images...I mean seriously I don't think Ive ever seen the ringed planet look so good. I wish we could get some analogous pictures of Neptune.

First test launch of the Ares 1-X scheduled to 0920 EDT today. Plan is up & parachute down to the ocean. Will it work? Here's hoping so.

Does 'Ares' refer to the planned replacement for the Shuttles, or am thinking of 'Altair'?

At best, 'Normal' is just another word for 'mundane', and at worst, it's an excuse to victimise people just because they're different.

The Ares rocket is the lift system for Project Constellation, which includes the Orion orbiter & the Altair lander.

Seems they had that wrong. It's not the shuttle, it's a Delta 2. Still a nice picture. As is the aurora australis seen from space I noticed a link to on that page.
