Im back after a long hiatus
« on: April 07, 2017, 01:11:57 PM »
Well, its a long time since I made my last post... :)
Well nothing finished yet, but my shipyards are building a new ship. :D After to correct a lot of mesh errors, I decided it was the time for the first rendering test. Just to see how it is going. Theres still a lot to do, but it dont turnned out that bad, dont you think? :)

Mesh built in Sketchup 8. Renderend with the default settings in Kerkythea.

So, do you remember me
In those moments just before you sleep?
I know you remember me
Swear to me the memory isn't seen
Promise me
That it doesn't make your heart beat

And you're back with a great design! Some details like on the Miranda, but overall a bit like the little sister of the Nebula.

Thank you Bernd! Much appreciated.

The naceles attached to the USS Theodore were just placeholders, cause they werent built by me. This changed now, cause I built my own naceles. Intentionally they are a bit different from the naceles of the traditional Ambassador class, just minor things that probably you wont notice at the first look. In time: they arent finished yet.

Update!
I wasnt so happy with the previous impulse engines, so, I changed them. Looks better? I also put some details and colors over the shuttlebay doors.

Painting of the hull was changed a bit. I also added the escape pods and numbered the ship. To understand how to copy move and align a object to a surface in Sketchup was a difficult mission, and it took me a lot of time to do it the right way. But Im pretty sattisfed in the end, cause I drew just one escape pod and the rest of them were a "copy, move, align" job made in a fast way. :)

Nice.  So is it an Ambassador era Miranda or Nebula?

Though I suppose you could argue that the Nebula is a TNG-era Miranda, in that it's a little sister to the Galaxy-class...

Don't know if this is too late to be doing this, but gluing components in sketch up speeds this sort of stuff up alot

The detailing is perfect for the design era. Keep up the good work!
