Altus Type Starbase
« on: May 16, 2017, 06:50:17 PM »

Altus type starbases where introduced in the mid 2170s. They consisted of a sphere 8 kilometers in diameter with 3 rings connected to a central core rotating. Altus type starbases where heavily armed, containing over a hundred phaser banks and various other weaponry. Altus City, completed in 2175 in Earth orbit, was barely tolerated by United Earth for this reason. Altus city contained many ship yards and was the launch site of the Coronado and other Rockwell type ships.Several other stations such as Bharat City (sometimes called star station India) and New San Diego were constructed in later years.

finished the main tower and outer rings basic shape. I am ready to begin working on the support pylons connecting the rings to the rotating core of the station.
The Central tower will have a standard deck structure unlike the rest of the station. I still have yet to decide how many pylons there will be and where they will be placed exactly.

This is pretty cool. I love your concept drawings.
Yorktown station in Beyond was one of my favorite parts of that film and one of the few times in a Trek film where my mouth was literally hanging open in awe. So if you can capture even some of that, my hats off to you sir.
