I've been popping my head in from time to time, but not had the audacity to post... until now.
Some of you may remember me as Tyburn... some others may remember I had an argument with my girlfriend who hijacked my account on here and effectively shut it down (she changed my password to a random jumble she didn't try to remember), so I started this alternate name.
Well, since then a lot has happened... and by a lot I mean probably a whole damn novel's worth. In 2009 I was laid off from my agency post in Hospital Sterile Services. A week later I passed my driving test. A couple of months after that I got into a new job which lasted me through my first crash (go ahead and laugh; I hit a parked car - it was yellow and I had the sun in my eyes) and on April 1st 2010, I finally tied the knot. In 2011 I walked out on said job after repeated attempts by management to screw over the workforce and straight into the job I have now - Hospital Sterile Services Technician. Last year, I went night-shift: Full time. I am now of the Night Watch, last line of defence against Fast-Tracked sets and instruments, one of the Elite.
Since 2010 I have been working on my Magnum Opus - something I believe I mentioned briefly while I was last active. Space Captain Flight, a parody of Star Trek as if it had been written by Captain W.E. Johns (the guy behind Biggles). It has since then taken on a life of it's own, turning from a fairly straight-laced parody into something which encompasses Star Trek, Star Wars, old British WWII movies, Doctor Who, Attack The Block, Battlestar Galactica and too many other things to mention. If you chaps don't mind I might like to use you as a sounding board on occasion, throw a few ideas past you to see if it works.
I'm on Twitter, under the name @Tyburn_Cross if anyone wants to pop by or even just sling abuse in my general direction. You'll recognise me, I'm the one that looks like an owl made out of coffee beans.
What I'm trying to say here is that I'm struggling a little with the writing thing and I think a little collaboration/feedback from some avid Treknophiles might help, and I'll do my bit to help in return. This place had often been a source of amusement/awe-inspiring art in the past and I'd like to see things get back on their feet.
TL;DR? Tyburn's back baby.
(P.S. I've been seeing some really good work on the art forums. I'm hoping some of you guys are doing that sort of thing professionally. If not, then please start doing so.)
